#GivingTuesday Kicks Off “Fritz’s Holiday Mission”
WCCU works with local agencies to provide Christmas Gifts to those in need.
Fritz, the WCCU Holiday Elf, has sent an urgent request from the North Pole! The elves are behind and won’t have enough time to fill all the Christmas orders this year. He is asking for help from our communities to fill all the tags with gifts for this year’s Christmas.
The staff at WCCU is ready to help with “Fritz’s Holiday Mission”. We have provided tags at all our offices for community members to select and purchase a gift on Fritz’s behalf. He and the other elves are partnering with social workers and the Department of Human Services for Monroe, Sauk, and Vernon Counties, along with the Ithaca Lions Club and local Hombres Club.
In addition to Fritz’s red tags, some office have more opportunities for Giving this holiday season.
In addition to Fritz’s Holiday Mission, our Reedsburg Office has tags shaped like mittenss for the Helping Hands Drive to provide gifts to families in need with a deadline of December 1st. Reedsburg is also a drop-off location for the Friends of Foster Families Toy Drive; please drop off your new toy for toddlers and children up to age 13, unwrapped, to our Reedsburg office for delivery by December 15th.
In Richland Center, all tags are hung on a holiday barrel in the lobby. Each tag contains a “wish list”, and anyone in the community can take a tag, shop, and bring back the unwrapped gifts with their tag to go in the barrel. The Ithaca Lions Club and local Hombres Club are distributing gifts later in December to families at the Community Building/Senior Center in Richland Center.
Our Lake Delton office has red tags available for “Fritz’s Holiday Mission”, along with additional tags for their Giving Tree. All Giving Tree Tags are donated to the Sauk County Giving Tree program and need to be returned, unwrapped, to WCCU by Monday, December 4th. The red tags for “Fritz’s Holiday Mission” will need to be returned with a wrapped gift by Wednesday, December 13th.
